Incoming kindergarteners in Nebraska can sign up to receive free picture books mailed to their home! When they register, every week they will get four easy-to-read picture books, plus a family information card mailed to their postal address for up to six months. This program is free.
How It Works
- The adult registering the child will receive a flyer or message that includes a QR code or a link to registration.
- The registration site asks for name, address, child care program the child has attended, kindergarten they will attend, language of preference, and 4 brief survey questions.
- Once the registration is completed, the family will be included in the next available mailing (it may take 2-3 weeks for registrations to be processed).
- You will start receiving four free picture books per week by mail for up to 25 weeks. To take advantage of the full 25 weeks, you must register no later than June 17, 2024. Later registrants will receive books through the end of 2024.
